The friends of Dymund Ellis, the woman who is accused of killing her roommate, claim it was all an accident.
People who know Ellis say the 19-year-old never intended to stab her friend to death.
Debra Wesley tells News 3 that she knew both Ellis and the victim, 25-year-old Jace Ernst.
“This particular day it just got out of hand,” Wesley said.
Wesley said that her niece lived with both Ellis and Ernst.
The North Las Vegas Police Department says Ellis and Ernst got into a loud argument at the apartment off of Cheyenne Avenue and Pecos Road on Friday. This argument turned violent.
“They got into an argument that turned physical. He has done things to her, and she has done things to him. However, on this particular day, it was a bad accident,” Wesley said.

Wesley says Ellis stabbed Ernst in the heart.
“She only hit him once, and sadly it just happened to be his heart,” stated Wesley. “She never intended that.”
Wesley and others living at the apartment say the two roommates were always heard and seen fighting.
Neighbors told News 3 that the roommates lived together for about two years. Chet Wilkins tells us his friend Ernst did not deserve to die like this.
“He was a very respectable young man. Every day he passed by her and repeatedly asked how her day is going,” shared Wilkins.
Wesley says she wishes this crime did not happen, but at the same time she is concerned about Ellis.
“If we do not step up and try to speak up for her, she is going to go to jail for the rest of her life,” said Wesley.
