TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) — Various service agencies from around the Big Bend spent Monday morning developing new connections at the Provider to Provider Expo.

The expo is part of the Family First Initiative, which is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office.

It’s intended to connect different agencies that provide services to families and children so they can more easily make referrals for their clients. It also helps agencies become aware of what services are actually offered in the community.

“We all are working together with the same goal. And if you can’tprovide the right services you need to know where to refer. And thisis a great way to put names to faces. And to find out what everyone is doing. There’s a lot of new ideas out there,” said Karen Boebinger, with Grandparents as Parents.

Boebinger said her agency often invites outside agencies to speak at their meetings, so the connections made Monday will help springboard that.

Whole Child Leon and the Early Learning Coalition co-organized the expo. It all leads up to the Community Summit on Children, Thursday.
